About the T&EC Grant
The Trainee and Early Career (T&EC) Day Grant includes return economy class airfares and accommodation for the duration of the weekend.
Please note that registration to this event, including the T&EC dinner, is free. All travel and registration for the successful applicants will be organised through BCT. Flights can be arranged to accommodate this, with additional accommodation beyond the awarded two nights at the cost of the recipient.
All applications for the 2027 Trainee and Early Career Day Grants must be submitted by midnight Sunday 23 May 2027.
Grant Responsibilities
Recipients are expected to be available and participate in all Trainee & Early Career Day activities, including the social dinner on Friday evening.
Recipients are expected to provide a report which summarises how the recipient benefited from receiving the grant within 30 days of the conclusion of the weekend. The report should be submitted to asm@bctrials.org.au.
Selection Process
The T&EC Day Organising Committee will subsequently review each application and select the best cases for presentation. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission shortly after applications close.
The successful applicants will be expected to present a patient case and then discuss a seminal piece of evidence (publication or conference abstract) that supports a key decision in that patient’s care.
Cases will be selected for presentation for an MDT discussion that will occur during the day. You will be notified in advance if your case has been selected.
A multi-disciplinary panel will be present to participate in discussion points around the case. Each presenter will have a total of 20 minutes. They should aim to present their case and discuss supporting evidence in four slides maximum, with only one slide to include data information, and the remaining time will be left for discussion.
